Grandad Making Memories

I was invited across by the Vienna Wargamers to play in their Dresden 1813 recreation . It was an epic game played with old friends and new.

Vienna of course is a fine historic city . The hotel of choice fur the group is the Kaiserin Elizabeth close to the centre. Excellent service , great breakfasts , very good air con – especially as it was 35 degrees while I was there

The flights all just worked which was good – I am really getting my flying mojo back

Playing in the “Grand Manner” – around 20,000 figures on the table . A wonderful sight to behold for any gamer .

The memorial to the the Soviet 3rd Ukrainian Front that liberated Vienna from Nazi control in 1945,. There is an ongoing agreement to maintain it that was part of the Soviet armies leaving Austria in the 50’s. It was framed by a wall of blue and yellow Ukraine flag which given this years events was very poignant.

A great break in great company . I look forward to next years games .
